Did you know October is recognized as National Chiropractic Health Month? During this month the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) heavily encourages the public to move more to improve their musculoskeletal and overall chiropractic health. The ACA and its members strive to help the chiropracting industry. This year, National Chiropractic Health Month is specifically focused on the campaign “Move 4 Life.”
“Move 4 Life” is a movement that focuses on improving and maintaining people’s musculoskeletal and overall health. The musculoskeletal system is comprised of your bones and muscles, which makes it an important system in your body. As part of the “Move 4 Life” campaign, chiropractors will provide much needed information about musculoskeletal health and tips on how to stay active and prevent injury. Being physically active is very important as it helps reduce the risk of certain health problems such as cardiovascular disease.
Physical activity also benefits our musculoskeletal system. As we age, our musculoskeletal system becomes more fragile. If not properly maintained and strengthened, we put ourselves at risk for serious injury from a fall or back pain. Back pain remains one of the most prevalent and disabling conditions worldwide. Therefore, it’s essential to get moving and stay active to live a healthier life.
Moving and staying active is important to your overall health, especially later in life. If you experience back pain or have a weak musculoskeletal system, it is good to consult your chiropractor.
