Earlier this week we discussed that pulse oximeters are available for medical and home use. For home use, pulse oximeters help users have a better handle on their oxygenation status. We recommend our line of Baseline® Fingertip Pulse Oximeters because we have specific models for adults and children.
Baseline® pulse oximeters measure and display real-time pulse and SpO2 level. Your SpO2 reading is an estimation of the amount of oxygen in your blood. An SpO2 reading of 95% or greater is generally considered to be a normal oxygen level. However, an SpO2 reading of 92% or less suggests that your blood is poorly saturated with oxygen. Insufficient saturation can cause a range of adverse health conditions including chest pain, shortness of breath and increased heart rate.
Baseline® pulse oximeters are compact and lightweight. They feature large, easy-to-read displays that automatically shuts off when not in use. There are three types of Baseline® pulse oximeters for the user to choose from.
- The standard model is suitable for adults and reads SpO2.
- The deluxe model reads SpO2 levels and features a plethysmograph (waveform) and a 6-way multidirectional OLED HD display.
- The pediatric model has all the features of the deluxe model but is smaller in design. This small design is great for pediatric use and perfect for children ages 2 through 12.
Each unit comes with a wrist lanyard and two AAA batteries. To see if our Baseline® Fingertip Pulse Oximeters are right for you, please consult your doctor.
