Body Recomposition is all about preserving and building muscle mass while losing fat at the same time. The focus is more on body composition rather than overall weight. Measurements that only factor in weight and height, such as body mass index (BMI) are not relevant. Rather than tracking weight on a scale, you should evaluate your Body Recomposition by taking body circumference measurements and measuring body fat with a Baseline® Skinfold Caliper.

For those of you who are wanting to gain muscle while burning fat, you must commit to changing your diet and exercise regimens to facilitate Body Recomposition. While measuring your calorie and protein intake can be done on your own, you cannot really measure how lean you are getting. Fortunately for you, Baseline has the perfect product for your lean mass measuring needs with the Baseline® Skinfold Caliper. This device is used to measure the thickness of subcutaneous tissue, or “skinfolds”. Once recorded, these measurements can be translated to body fat content as a percentage of body weight. This can accurately tell you the ratio of lean mass to fat mass you have.

Unlike a standard diet, Body Recomposition is a lifestyle in which fitness and nutrition techniques lead to healthy changes in your body’s ratio of fat to muscle. BMI scales and handheld devices will not provide the right information you need to reach your body recomposition goals. Only the Baseline® Skinfold Caliper can assure accurate and reproducible results. With a fully illustrated instruction manual included with the caliper, you can use the body fat conversion tables to measure where you are at now and the lean mass goals you want to achieve. It should be noted that these percentage figures vary with age and sex.

If you want to convert bad fat mass into lean muscle mass, you should look towards Body Recomposition. To accurately measure your body composition ratio, look no further than the Baseline® Skinfold Caliper.
