Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is a type of nerve stimulation therapy that helps relieve mild to chronic pain. With a prescription, you can use this therapy treatment in the comfort of your own home. It does not have to be used exclusively with your primary doctor or physical therapist. All you need to do TENS therapy at home is to have the electrode pads and the unit itself. Shockingly, both the TENS unit and electrode pads are not that expensive. Making it one of the more affordable forms of therapy to help with chronic pain. One product line we offer for TENS therapy is FabStim®.
FabStim® units are affordable and very easy to use. There are two types of FabStim® units available: the TENS 3000™ and the TENS 7000™. The TENS 3000™ is a 2-channel analog unit while the TENS 7000™ is a 2-channel digital unit. The analog model is great for people who need an easy to use device. It only uses physical knobs to adjust the amount of nerve stimulation needed. With the digital model, you gain a digital display that shows you all the treatment options available. This device offers an accurate and legible TENS therapy sessions, displaying the exact stimulation you are receiving.
Please note, you cannot perform TENS therapy with just a TENS unit. You need to use it in conjunction with electrode filled pads. These electrode pads connect to either the TENS 3000™ or the TENS 7000™ unit to achieve TENS therapy. Fortunately, FabStim® has you covered with electrode pads as well. Fabstim® electrodes are self-adhesive and are made of a high-quality Tyco gel and cloth. They are economical and functional because they can be used 8 to 12 times per pad. The FabStim® electrodes are fully compatible with other TENS units as well. If you already have a TENS unit that isn’t a FabStim® unit, you can still use the FabStim® self-adhesive electrodes with it.
Together the FabStim® unit and electrodes are a great option to treat your moderate to severe pain. Be aware you do need a prescription to use TENS therapy, so it’s best to see your healthcare provider to determine if this treatment is best for you.
