Study Shows Practicing Yoga can Ease Arthritis Symptoms

cold-spot-woman-smA recent study from the John Hopkins University School of Medicine found that yoga can help improve symptoms of the two most common types of arthritis.

We came across the study while reading an article by Tree Hugger. The study assigned 75 patients who suffered from either rheumatoid arthritis or knee osteoarthritis to a yoga or non-yoga group. Those assigned to the group that practiced yoga attended two weekly yoga classes and practiced some stretches at home. After 8 weeks the yoga group reported improvements in pain and physical function.
