Before 2015 ended, Meredith Deliso at AM New York asked trainers and nutritionists what they think will be big for maintaining a healthy lifestyle in 2016.

Here are the health and fitness trends they expect to be big in 2016:

For Fitness

  • Building Strength – almost directly related to the CrossFit trend, there is a big emphasis on getting strong, not just looking good.

  • Coconut butter and oil – coconut butter and oil are healthy fats and many people prefer coconut for its antibacterial properties.
  • Meal kits – programs that deliver ingredients and recipes to your door each week are going to become more popular. People have the opportunity to order healthy alternatives and get into the habit of making their own food.
