Earlier this week we wrote about the exercise practice known as “time under tension”. To sum it up, “time under tension” allows people to get the results they want without lifting heavy weights. Dedicating time to certain muscle groups and using light weights works just as well as if you lifted a lot more. The next steps to “time under tension” is choosing the weights you want to use. Dumbbells are a perfect choice because they come in a variety of different weights and there are a lot of different exercises you can do with them.
We recommend the CanDo® Dumbbells for building muscle. With the variety of different weight options and a vinyl coating that won’t scratch the floor, you can’t go wrong. CanDo® vinyl-coated dumbbells are made of cast iron and are conveniently color-coded according to how much they weigh. The dumbbells come as a pair or individually depending on the user’s preference. It is suggested to get both dumbbells when doing “time under tension” because you will want to move quickly and utilize as many muscles as you can under the time constraint. Using just one dumbbell will take more time to do a full workout session. When it comes to time management, having two dumbbells are better than one. Especially for those exercises that can only be done with two weights.
CanDo® dumbbells sets are great for giving users more options when switching between varying weights. Being able to switch between weights is great for situations when you are doing a workout like bicep curls and want to quickly switch to a shoulder workout but don’t want to use the same amount of weight. The dumbbell set also allows for building more muscle. You can’t use the same weight forever. There needs to be a gradual increase in weight to maintain results.
If you want to try doing a “time under tension” workout, the best tool for the job are CanDo® dumbbells. They come in varying color-coded weights and have multiple options depending on what you feel most comfortable with.
